    Re: Mandatory Student Driving/Parent Meeting

    Dear Parent/Guardian:

If you now have, or soon will have a teenage driver in your home, this announcement is sure to be of interest to you.

The Council of Addiction Prevention and Education (CAPE) of Dutchess County offers the program "Teen Driving - A Family Affair" this program is mandatory for students who are applying for school parking permits.

This year the 2022 Teen Driving make-up sessions will return to the in-person format and will be hosted by the Spackenkill and Arlington School Districts. STUDENTS FROM ALL DISTRICTS MAY ATTEND EITHER OF THESE SESSIONS on the following dates:

Spackenkill High School on Tuesday, September 20, 2022

Arlington High School on Thursday, September 22, 2022

Every student MUST be accompanied by a parent. This is a MANDATORY program for students who are applying for school parking permits, and parents/guardians who play such a crucial role in their teen's safe driving.

Students and parents should plan to arrive at 6:30pm for registration, so that we can begin the program promptly at 7:00pm.

Please note that a parent and their son/daughter are only required to participate in this program once during the student's 9 - 12 school years. However, the program participation must take place before the student may drive on school grounds. A completed application of participation must be on file with the high school office for the student parking privileges.

    Sincerely,

    Tara K. Grieb,  Principal
