    While we are out of school, you can check my website to find useful resources to keep our students busy and reading. Don't forget the District Resources found under the COVID-19 Resources tab on the ppcsd.org website.    

     

    2nd-5th Grade-Continue to check Google Classroom (shared with Mrs. Solazzo) for activities and assignments. Library assignments are posted under the Classwork tab then look for LIBRARY ACTIVITIES WHILE OUT OF SCHOOL. If you have any questions, please email me at e.curnan@ppcsd.org. 

    PK-1st Grade- NEW COLD SPRING SPECIALS WEBSITE-Click here for PK-1st Grade Library Activities. From here, you will see each specials class listed at the top of the page, click on which specials class you want and have fun! I have been joining class meets to do read alouds. Hope to read with your class soon and hear all about the good books you have been reading at home!

    Rochester International Children's Film Festival-  Every day from April 13th – May 9th a new children’s film and activity will be posted.  You have to sign up each day in order to receive access to the video, vocabulary words,  related books, activities and discussion questions. It is a quick sign up process, I have been signing up each day.  I really enjoy the videos and activities.

    Reading Comprehension Questions-Here are some sample questions to ask your child to help facilitate discussions and understanding.


     Mrs. Curnan's Library Choice Board: If you are looking for activities to keep your kids learning while having fun, check out the Library Choice Board I have created here with 12 different tasks to keep them reading, writing, and thinking.  If students complete 5 tasks and return to the library with parents initials next to task, they will receive a prize: Library Choice Board

    B&O Railroad Museum-This site has daily storytime with an accompanying downloadable activity. Great if you have any train lovers at home!

    GoNoodle-Great site to get the kids moving and learnng at the same time.

    Jarrett Krosoczka- Draw every day with JJK (at 2pm), author and illustrator of the Lunch Lady Series.
