    Course Syllabus 2015-2016

Due to the emphasis on the new Common Core Curriculum, I have chosen to break the year down into four thematic units. Three units will include at least one major work of literature, several short stories, a nonfiction component, poems, media and additional ancillary works that fit within the overall theme. The remaining unit will focus solely on dramatic texts, with a Shakespearean comedy being the major concentration. In order to facilitate learning for all levels, the following literary works have been selected asoptions for each unit of study. Again, students will not read everything on this list; it is merely a literary framework.
